THE HALL OF SETLISTS

A setlist - as if it wasn't obvious - is a list of jokes and stories that a comedian is going to tell during a set. It's pretty much the same thing that bands do. Most everyone uses them, even the biggies.

If you pay attention when you watch a comedian on Comedy Central or some other program, you can sometimes see them glancing down to their setlists. If a comedian happens to keep glancing down at the stool on stage - that's probably what they're looking at.

What's funny is that most comedians only need to write down a word to two to indicate what might be a fifteen minute routine. So they wind up with these little scraps of paper that read like a beat poem from the 1950s. These are various setlists that I've collected during my time.
