NEWS PIECES
These are all TV news style pieces shot over the course of a few months. To see more "cinematic" examples of our work, head over to the MOVIES section.
I shot and edited all of the pieces. The camera used was the CanonGL2 PAL version.
Videos were cut on Final Cut Pro.
These videos have all been encoded in flash and are hosted on this website. They can't be put of YouTube because of permissions issues.
THE CAMDEN FIRE
In February, 2008, a fire ravaged parts of the Camden Market in London. Our team went up there about a week after the blaze to capture the scene. Amazingly enough, there was a building with a multi-story stairwell open to the public right across the street from where the fire started. We were able to get some great footage from there.
Also the pub that burned down is where Amy Winehouse used to hang out.
I'm not saying she started the fire. Just an interesting coincidence.
KOSOVO
Also in February 2008, Kosovo declared it's independence from Serbia. We started researching the story and managed to find a Kosovinan Cafe - over on Abbey Road, no less.
Things got a little heated as we started to interview people there. At one point a fight almost broke out, but I managed to keep the camera running.
THE LAST BOOZE TUBE
On June 1, 2008, Boris Johnson (BoJo), the Mayor of London, banned all alcohol on the tube. This is the story of the last night before the ban.
I found a group who was organizing a party and met up to spend the whole day with them. They were an orderly enough bunch who just wanted to have a good time.
As the night wore on, though, things got more and more rowdy. I got separated from Terrance and Dan and found myself among some "Tube Hooligans".
